Where do I add the money off voucher to my order?
This can be added at the checkout stage of your order. Please enter the 20-digit voucher code to the voucher boxes provided. To find out more about subscribing and claiming vouchers, please close this window and click on the 'Subscribe' link on the top right hand corner of our site.
Out of stock items ('Back Orders')
When browsing our full catalogue range you may find an item that is currently out of stock. In order to overcome this we provide the facility to place the item on Back Order. We will reserve this item on your behalf so when the product is back in stock we can automatically process the order and despatch the product to you.
Will I get charged when I place the order?
Items placed on Back Order may be charged for upon confirming your order. You may cancel a back order - please contact Maplin Customer Services on 0844 557 6000.
What happens if some items are in stock and I back order other items?
When you place the order all the items available for despatch will be sent immediately. Outstanding products on back order will be despatched as soon as all the remaining items are in stock, to complete the order in one parcel.
Will I be charged carriage on Back Orders?
On the UK mainland, you will be charged only once per order for carriage. This charge will be levied against the first shipment of goods. Outside the UK, should further export carriage costs be required we will contact you before despatch.
If I have items on back order which are part of a buy 1 get 1 free offer or a bundle, do I still get the saving?
Offers of this nature (i.e. buy 1 get 1 free, buy 2 get 1 free, motherboard bundles etc) only apply when all of the items are in stock.

Delivery
Is there a delivery charge?
Delivery is free (within the UK mainland) for all orders over £35 inclusive of VAT. For orders under £35 inclusive of VAT a small order charge will be levied. The current charge is £2.99.
When will I receive my order?
Your
goods will arrive within 1-3 working days (Monday to Friday but exclusive of Bank
Holidays) subject to successful credit card
authorisation.
I need my order delivered quickly. Are there any guaranteed next day delivery options available?
There are next day delivery options available (up until 5pm) at the checkout stage. Please note: these options are only available when all items in your basket are in stock.
Overseas delivery?
Carriage will be charged on orders involving Export at the appropriate rate prevailing at the date of despatch. The Customer is responsible at their own expense to obtain any import or export license or any other documentation deemed necessary by any compliant authority.

How do I checkout?
Make sure you have all the items you want in your basket before you click the 'Checkout' button (only use the 'Autobuy' button if you have autobuy settings set up with us). You will then be redirected to a log-in page. If you are an existing customer, please log in using the details which you have set up with us. If you are a new customer, click on the 'Register' link and register your details with us. Once logged in, proceed to checkout page.

When will I be charged for my order?
We only debit the money from your account when the order is dispatched from our warehouse.
Can I pay by Cheque?
Unfortunately, you cannot pay by cheque on www.maplin.co.uk. Please download an order form and send us your order with your cheque payment enclosed.
Completing your order
How do I know that you have received my order?
On the checkout page you click 'Complete Purchase'.
A page will then appear after a few seconds, thanking you for your order and giving you the details of your order, with an order reference number.
You will also get an e-mail sent to the account you are registered with.
Should you have any problems, you can contact the customer service team (details can be found in the 'Contact Us' section)
How can I track the progress of my order?
Once you have completed your order, you can track the progress of your order. Log in, and click on the 'Order History' button. Typically an order will go through various stages: "Order being processed", "Order Despatched at [[date]]", "Order Complete".
Site Security
Are my details secure ?
As soon as you access the 'checkout' or 'login' pages, your Internet browser will go into secure mode (i.e. before you enter any personal or payment details). You can tell whether a page is secure as 'https' will replace the 'http' at the front of the www.maplin.co.uk in your browser address window. A small locked padlock will also appear in the bottom bar of your browser window. Our secure site is Verisign secured.
Our secure mode uses industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to provide encryption of personal information such as your name, address and credit card details. In this way, information passed between your computer and us cannot be read in the unlikely event of someone intercepting it.
The encryption process creates billions of code combinations to protect each transaction made on our site, so your card details cannot be viewed by anyone else using the Internet. If you are using one of the more recent browser versions, our site supports 128 bit encryption and therefore keeps your details as safe as possible at all times.
